Holidays to get away from the crowds

With the Covid-19 pandemic still causing havoc in much of the world, Angie Watson from Hailsham-based Experience Holidays takes a look at the safest types of holidays to consider when you’re ready to travel again

Social distancing is likely to be here to stay for some time. With this in mind, below are some suggestions.

Motorhome Holidays

The beauty of a motorhome holiday is the flexibility it offers. Set the pick up and drop off details, but the time in between is yours to do with as you wish! No need to repeatedly pack the case and with self-catering facilities on board, you can be as socially distanced as you desire. Explore National Parks and the stunning scenery these offer together with activities such as walking, kayaking and wildlife watching. Visit empty beaches, small picturesque towns and take iconic driving routes.

African Safari Camps

Picture yourself with a G&T, sat on the deck in front of your luxury tent, watching as a herd of elephant drink and play at a waterhole in front of you. There is something magical about watching African wildlife in their natural habitat, and to do so whilst staying in a small camp of just a few luxury tents will certainly make you feel like you’re getting away from it all! The small camps and thus few guests make this a great option to consider while social distancing.

B&B’s

Some destinations lend themselves incredibly well to staying in smaller properties such as B&B’s, farm stays and boutique lodges. Whilst not entirely socially distant, such properties have limited numbers of guests. They don’t only provide a place to lay your head but also the opportunity to learn about the local way of life, and to find out ‘insider tips’ that only a local such as your host would know.

Flight inclusive bookings with Experience Holidays are ATOL protected, and non-flight bookings are protected via our TRIP policy.
