The Wealden Eye November/December issue out now

November 14, 2020

In the latest issue of The Wealden Eye, our history expert Paul Enderson discovers how Hailsham celebrated Christmas a hundred years ago, with some interesting stories with the happenings around town back then.

Also, a local Hailsham Councillor has formed an alliance against so-called over-development in the town. We find out why Trevor Powis is on a mission to bring conservation groups together in the region.

As local residents know, 2020’s Bonfire parade was cancelled due to COVID-19, much like many others around the UK. We talk to the group to find out how they are coping financially and how local people can get involved.

Other interesting stories in the November/December 2020 edition include: A look at further education in East Sussex, how to take a stunning break in Canada, the beauty of Pointsettias from Flowers by Maybugs, remember music from 1968, a complete Christmas gift guide from Maybugs of Hailsham, a tribute to ex-Mayor of Hailsham, Nick Ellwood, an update on services from Hailsham Town Council and news from the Hook and Son farm.

8,000 copies are being delivered to home in Hailsham, but you can also pick-up a copy from outside Flowers by Maybugs, in Vicarage Fields.
